2020 HALLOWEEN TREAT TRUCK

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 31 | MT. DESERT, MAINE

The Halloween Treat Truck has been a howling success since its debut several years ago. As it turns out, the Treat Truck also lends itself perfectly to the concept of social distancing. This year the Treat Truck has an expanded schedule and will be venturing all over Mt. Desert-- it’s your one stop trick-or-treat destination! We’ve even added a special “Candy Claw” along with plenty of other tricks so we can safely hand out treats!

Our friends from the Mt. Desert Chamber of Commerce have hopped on board and will be co-sponsoring the festivities. We’ll start our Halloween adventure in Otter Creek, working our way through Seal Harbor, Northeast Harbor, Somesville, and Hall Quarry. We’ll wrap things up back in NEH at The Neighborhood House so that anyone who might have missed us along the way still has the chance to get some treats. Whether you reside in one of these villages or any of our other MDI communities, we hope you’ll plan a visit to the Treat Truck. We all deserve something sweet after several crazy months, so we’ll have extra treat bags for all of the Halloween “chaperones” as well.

More Treat Truck Details

  • We’re using devilishly delicious treat bags rather than individual pieces of candy.

  • If you’re waiting for the Treat Truck to arrive, stick with your household group and be sure to spread out.

  • When the Treat Truck parks, there’s no need to rush to the front— our team of gloved ghouls and goblins will either toss a treat bag your way or utilize our six foot “Candy Claw!”

  • If there’s a larger crowd gathered, we’ll throw down our “Halloween Hula Hoops,” and each household group can stand in one to get their treats.

  • We encourage everyone to incorporate a cloth face covering into their costume and can’t wait to see all the creative ways you do this!

  • Don’t forget basic Halloween safety tips like not impairing your eyesight, avoiding costumes with tripping hazards, and adding reflective materials and/or having a flashlight.
