Swallowfield Hosts a Meal... and Musicians

Our recent Community Cafe held on December 21 was generously sponsored by Swallowfield, and the combination of piping hot homemade chowder along with Old Dog Baking Co. bread on a frigid first day of winter did not disappoint.

Long time Neighborhood House supporter and former Board member, Jennifer Judd-McGee is the proprietor and creative mind behind Swallowfield, with a location on Main St. as well as online.

In addition to delicious meal and warm conversation, the Cafe also included a special performance by several talented students from Mrs. Graves music program at Mt. Desert Elementary. The kids did a fantastic job performing on stage, and it was a nice chance for a large segment of the community which doesn't regularly get the chance to see them perform hear just how talented they are.

Young and talented musicians from Mt. Desert Elementary performed for our lunch guests.

The Mt. Desert Elementary musicians will return to another Cafe later in the year. In the meantime, be sure to join us for our next luncheon on January 4, and on the first and third Thursday of each month now through April.
