On Thursday evening, August 14, the Board of Directors and staff of The Neighborhood House gathered for their annual summer meeting. The festivities were generously hosted at the home of Board member Gregg Scott and his wife Terri. While all the attendees are familiar with one and other from dozens of Board and committee meetings throughout the year (mostly on “Zoom”), this annual tradition serves as one of the few times they are all able to sit together, socialize, and form connections that aren’t always possible during the confines of a normal meeting (especially online). These connections and the sense of togetherness created only strengthens efforts to continue to uphold the mission of The Neighborhood House.

After a quick “business meeting” lead by Board President, George Grohs, it was time to say “thank you” to several Board members with expiring terms. While handing out more tote bags than a PBS telethon, George managed to personally thank each of these individuals for their tireless efforts and expertise they offered towards the improvement of The Neighborhood House. However, it’s not so much a “goodbye” as it is a “see you later,” as their steadfast commitment to The Neighborhood House and our community as a whole is certainly not going anywhere. Those amazing folks included: Amory Logan, Eliza Bishop, Gregg Scott, Kathe McCoy, Lisa Parsons and Nancy McKay.
