We've Got A New Look
After much consideration and perhaps a healthy dose of procrastination we decided this internet thing has finally caught on. Our website was in need of a little overhaul as the old one, circa 2007, was held together with bubblegum and paper clips. With smartphones and tablets accounting for over 50% of our website views, it was important to us make the new website easy to view on all devices. Now you can keep up-to-date on all the happenings at The Neighborhood House.
We fired up the Tandy 1000 and got to work, leaving no stone unturned. A well functioning website is a lot like a restaurant-- there's a "Front End" (dining room, hostess, etc.) and a "Back End" (the kitchen). For an unforgettable dining experience, both need to function individually and as a team. For a website, the Front End is the user interface you see when visiting, and the Back End is all the behind-the-scenes stuff like the HTML and CSS, web host, etc. Unfortunately for us, our dilapidated website's Front End was looking more like "Mel's Diner" than the French Laundry. Coupled with this, the Back End was run by fry cooks that would haunt Gordon Ramsey's "Kitchen Nightmares."
Once the dust settled, our new website was complete. As with any site, it's always a "work in progress," but we're happy to report that we'll have a much easier time keeping everything current, adding news, sharing photos, and connecting with our community. We even have a blog!
It's only a matter of time before the Michelin Stars begin rolling in.
