Originally hired to fill the position of Program Director in 1998, Anne-Marie moved into the role of Executive Director in the spring of 2001. During her time at The Neighborhood House, she has assisted with the oversight and implementation of numerous programs and events that have helped revitalize the organization.
Growing up in Brewer, Maine, Anne-Marie holds a B.A. in Sociology from the University of Maine at Orono, and began working with children while in high school.Â After graduating from college her interest in community, children and families lead her to employment working with behaviorally challenged kids in the foster care system.Â Although she enjoyed the position, Anne-Marie has always had a love for MDI and Acadia National Park and consequently was ultimately drawn to the island and The Neighborhood House. She enjoys hiking, kayaking, biking, cross-country skiing and walks with her yellow lab and currently resides in Northeast Harbor.
Alisha handles day-to-day activities at NHH, including bookkeeping, billing, and managing all facility rentals.
Matt is originally from Brewer, and a graduate of the University of Maine with a degree in Political Science.Â His first experience with NHH was spending the summer after graduation helping with the NHH camp program.Â After a little over a year in the Bangor area coordinating job training and placement for individuals with developmental disabilities, Matt was thrilled at the chance to return to NHH.
As with everyone on the small staff at the rapidly growing NHH, over the years his role has greatly evolved.Â Today, Matt serves as Community Relations Director, and focuses most of his efforts dealing with newsletters (both online and print), social media, the new NHH website, as well as posters, press releases, and everything in between in order to get the word out about all the exciting happenings at NHH.Â Additionally, Matt oversees the staffing and implementation of the popular NHH Summer Camp program, and has enjoyed his time working with the Building & Grounds Committee on various facility improvements.Â

Matt resides in Northeast Harbor, and while not at NHH he enjoys playing a spectacularly mediocre round of golf, kayaking, and using his keen sense of direction getting lost on the carriage trails.Â He also serves on the Board for the Acadian Little League, and as President of the Mt. Desert Chamber of Commerce.
